Still in Marathon

It is March 1, and we are still in Marathon, FL awaiting warmer weather. We have had maybe 3 or 4 days in the high 70's low 80's....two days which could have been considered beach days. One day I did go swimming in a pool at a marina where some friends had their boat, and one day we took a dinghy ride to a beach but did not go in the water. The ocean water is still cold, 67 or so. The days have been mostly sunny and cool, although we have had our share of heavy wind and rain. Most of the boats are staying put and not moving either north or south or to the Bahamas due to the weather. Our days are filled with walking Packet, reading, doing boat chores(although we are not doing enough of those, such as sanding the teak trim) laundry, shopping and visiting. Because we do not have a car, shopping has to be planned as we have to walk or ride the bike, so we usually do one errand a day. Oh yes did I mention socializing? It is amazing how a 30 minute walk can turn into a couple of hours to talking to people on the dock. We are enjoying ourselves, but do wish for some warmer weather. We will be here for at least another 2 weeks, if not three before we start to head north. Hope everyone is well and the northern winter has not been too harsh.
